Privacy policy
Money Pool ("the app") is developed and operated by Abuli ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, where it is stored, and how you can manage and delete your data. If this English version and the Traditional Chinese version differ, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
1. Data we collect
| Data | Where it is stored | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account data: your Google account identifier, name, email address and profile photo URL | Firebase Authentication, and your account's data in Cloud Firestore | To sign you in with Google and show your name and photo under "Me" |
| Your records: for every reading, account and category names, amounts, periods, last payment dates, reminder choices and notes | Your account's data in Cloud Firestore | To show your level and work out the monthly flow, months covered, where the money goes and bill reminders |
| The fish's name and on/off setting | Your account's data in Cloud Firestore | To keep the setting when you sign in on another phone |
| Crash reports: device model, OS and app version, error logs and an installation identifier | Firebase Crashlytics | To find and fix crashes and errors |
| Advertising data: advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with ads | Google AdMob | To show the banner ad at the bottom of the screen, which keeps the app free |
Data kept only on your phone: how often the fish has reminded you, your answer to the naming invite, whether you have seen the spending hint, an unsaved first-fill draft, and the "Unlock to open" setting. These stay on your phone and are never uploaded.
Biometrics: with "Unlock to open" switched on, your fingerprint, face or screen lock is checked by your phone's system. The app only learns whether the check passed; it never receives or stores any biometric data.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. The app does not connect to your bank accounts; you type in every amount yourself.
2. How we use the data
- To provide the service: storing your records and calculating the numbers on the Reservoir, Outflow and Records tabs.
- To fix problems: crash reports are used only to find and fix errors.
- To show ads: so the app can stay free.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the financial data you enter to target ads or profile your spending.
3. Who can see your data
- Only you: your records are stored under your account, and the app has no sharing or public features.
- Service providers: Google (Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob and Google Play in-app updates). Data is stored in Google Cloud data centres, which may be outside Taiwan.
- When the law requires it: we may disclose data where legally required.
4. Ads and your choices
AdMob may use your advertising ID to show personalised ads. On Android you can delete or reset your advertising ID under Settings → Google → Ads; you will still see ads, just not ones chosen by your interests.
To learn how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
5. Retention and deletion
- Your records are kept until you delete them. You can delete a single reading in the app, or your whole account.
- Under Me → Delete account you can delete your account together with all your records, the fish's settings and this phone's data for that account. For the steps, and how to ask for deletion if you can't use the app, see Delete your account and data.
- Signing out does not delete your records; they come back when you sign in with the same account.
- Crashlytics keeps crash reports for up to 90 days; AdMob keeps data under Google's policies.
6. Your rights
Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act you may ask to see, get a copy of, add to or correct your personal data, to stop its collection, processing or use, or to have it deleted. Email us at abuli.studio.com@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in a region with its own data protection law, you can exercise the rights it gives you the same way.
7. Security
Connections between the app and Google's services are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). You can also switch on "Unlock to open" so that someone holding your phone can't see your amounts. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please keep your phone and Google account safe.
8. Children
The app is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you find that a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update this page and the effective date above. We will point out significant changes in the app or on this site.
